Obey & Serve Chances

OSC

Obey Together, Serve Together, Create New Opportunities

Obey & Serve Chances, Inc. (OSC) is a nonprofit organization established to support the refugee ministry of Saehan Church. OSC exists to help refugee children and their families adjust, grow, and thrive as they build new lives in a new community.

Rooted in the Christian spirit of service, OSC values walking alongside our refugee neighbors through close partnership between the church and the local community.

Our Mission

Refugee families often face many challenges as they adjust to life in a new country, including language, culture, education, relationships, and future career opportunities.

OSC seeks to go beyond providing temporary assistance. We walk alongside refugee children and youth so they can grow through healthy relationships, discover their unique potential, and become confident and contributing members of their local community.

Mentoring & Education

We build ongoing relationships with refugee children and youth, helping them adjust to school and daily life while supporting their learning, growth, and development.

Counseling & Life Skills

We walk alongside individuals as they face the challenges of everyday life, helping them develop practical life skills such as healthy relationships, responsibility, communication, and decision-making.

Integration & Self-Sufficiency

We provide connections, resources, and practical support to help refugee families adjust to their new culture and community and move toward long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

Community Partnerships

We collaborate with local churches, organizations, and community partners to provide refugee families with meaningful, practical, and sustainable support.

Community Outreach

Through children and youth programs, family support activities, and other opportunities for connection, we reach out to our refugee neighbors and build lasting relationships within the community.

A Ministry of Church and Community Together

OSC does not believe that any one organization can meet every need of a refugee family on its own.

We believe that when churches, local communities, volunteers, and partner organizations bring their strengths together, we can create deeper and more lasting change in the lives of children and families.

Saehan Presbyterian Church of Louisville also serves alongside OSC, walking closely with refugee children and youth through worship, education, mentoring, and intentional relationships.

OSC operates as a nonprofit organization, and all financial resources and assets are used solely to advance its charitable, religious, and educational purposes.

The Board of Directors provides oversight of the organization’s mission, finances, and programs, while promoting accountability, responsible stewardship, and practices designed to prevent conflicts of interest.
