La jubilación llega para todos.

 

모든 사람은 은퇴라는 과정을 겪습니다. 저 역시 은퇴가 있습니다. 신학을 막 공부하기 시작하던 시절, 한 교수님의 말씀이 지금까지도 제 마음에 깊이 남아 있습니다.

그 말씀을 들으며 저는 졸업할 때부터 은퇴를 준비해야겠다는 생각을 한 적이 있습니다. 사람이 죽음을 매일 생각하며 살면 하루 하루를 소홀히 할 수 없듯이, 은퇴를 생각하며 사역을 하면 맡겨진 하루 하루를 결코 가볍게 여기지 않고 최선을 다하게 됩니다.

이제 가만히 생각해 보니, 저도 은퇴하는 날까지 2년 4개월이 남았습니다. 저의 은퇴 날짜는 2028년 3월 30일이기 때문입니다. 카운트다운이 시작된 것입니다. 앞 뒤를 빼고 나면 실제로 제가 일을 할 수 있는 기간은 약 1년 반 정도 남았습니다. 그래서 내년 사역 계획 속에는 후임자를 찾는 계획도 있습니다. 최소한 1년 정도는 후임자와 함께 사역하며 자연스럽게 연결해 주어야 하겠다는 생각이기 때문입니다.

물론 요즘 한국어와 영어를 자유롭게 구사할 수 있는 차세대 담임목사 후임자를 찾는 일이 쉽지 않다고 합니다. 그래서 저는 조금 앞당겨서 후임자 찾기와 은퇴 준비를 함께 진행하려 합니다. 무엇보다 중요한 것은 후임자가 우리 교회의 DNA를 이해하고 지속할 수 있는 분이어야 한다는 점입니다. 그래서 그 DNA(조건)를 3가지로 압축 정리해보았습니다.

첫째, 신약성경적 교회를 지향하는 가정교회 정신을 이해하는 분이어야 합니다. 가정교회 형태가 이 시대에 영혼을 구원하여 제자를 만드는 데, 매우 성경적인 방법이라고 생각하기 때문입니다. 둘째, 한인들 뿐만 아니라, 인터내셔널 난민 가정의 어린이와 청소년들의 영혼을 구원하고 제자 삼는 일에도 열정이 있는 분이어야 합니다. 셋째, 선교의 DNA를 가진 분이면 좋겠습니다. 교회는 최종적으로 모든 민족으로 예수 믿게하고 제제를 만드는 일이어야 하기때문입니다.

이러한 조건에 꼭 맞는 분을 모시는 것이 쉽지는 않겠지만, 우리가 기도하고 순종 할 때, 하나님께서 일하시고, 하나님께서 기적을 베풀어 주셔서 이러한 분을 보내주실 줄로 믿습니다.

저도 은퇴는 끝이 아니라 새로운 시작입라고 생각합니다. 하나님께서 세우실 다음 세대를 위해 준비하는 과정이며, 우리 교회가 더 큰 사명과 비전을 향해 나아가는 길이라고 생각합니다. 저는 지금 앞으로 남은 2년 4개월을 소망스럽게 기대하고 있습니다.

저뿐만 아니라, 여러분도 매일 죽음을 생각하는 동시에, 은퇴를 진지하게 생각하며 준비해 보시기 바랍니다. 은퇴는 단순히 직무의 마침표가 아니라, 하나님께서 주신 삶의 사명을 다음 세대에 아름답게 이어주는 과정라고 생각합니다. 여러분도 은퇴를 준비하는 모든 과정이 우리 모두에게 기도의 제목이 되고, 하나님의 뜻을 함께 구하는 기회가 되기를 바랍니다. PK

 

1033. Retirement comes to everyone. (English Version)

Everyone goes through the process of retirement. I, too, have retirement ahead of me. When I first began studying theology, a professor’s words deeply remained in my heart. Listening to those words, I once thought that I should prepare for retirement from the moment of graduation. 
 

Just as a person who thinks of death every day cannot take each day lightly, so also, when ministry is lived with retirement in mind, 
each entrusted day is never treated lightly but carried out with utmost devotion. Now, as I reflect, I realize that I have 2 years and 4 months left until my retirement day, which is March 30, 2028. The countdown has begun. 

If I subtract the transition period, the actual time I can actively serve is approximately one and a half years. Therefore, in next year’s ministry plan, there is also the plan to find my successor. I believe at least one year should be spent serving together with the successor to ensure a natural and smooth transition. 

Of course, it is said that finding a next-generation senior pastor who can freely use both Korean and English is not easy these days. 
Therefore, I intend to begin the process of finding a successor and preparing for retirement earlier. 

Most importantly, the successor must be someone who understands and continues our church’s DNA. I have summarized this DNA into three conditions: First, one who understands the spirit of the house church, which aims for a New Testament church. 
I believe the house church model is a very biblical way to save souls and make disciples in this generation. Second, one who has passion not only for Koreans, but also for saving and discipling the children and youth of international refugee families. Third, one who carries the DNA of missions, for the ultimate calling of the church is to lead all nations to believe in Jesus and to make disciples of them. 

 

It will not be easy to find someone who fits these conditions, but I believe that as we pray and obey, God will work, and God will perform miracles to send such a person to us. I also believe that retirement is not the end but a new beginning. It is the process of preparing for the next generation whom God will raise, and the path for our church to move toward greater mission and vision. 
 

I now look forward with hope to the remaining 2 years and 4 months. Not only do I, but I also encourage you to think of death daily 
and at the same time, seriously consider and prepare for retirement. 
Retirement is not merely the end of a duty, but the process of beautifully passing on the life mission God has given us to the next generation. May every step of preparing for retirement become a prayer topic for us all, and an opportunity to seek God’s will together.

 

1033. La jubilación llega para todos. (Hispana Version)

Todos pasan por el proceso de la jubilación. Yo también tengo mi jubilación por delante. 
Cuando comencé a estudiar teología, las palabras de un profesor quedaron profundamente en mi corazón. 

Al escuchar esas palabras, pensé que debía prepararme para la jubilación desde el momento de la graduación. 
Así como una persona que piensa en la muerte cada día no puede tomar la vida a la ligera, 
también, cuando el ministerio se vive pensando en la jubilación, 
cada día confiado nunca se toma a la ligera, sino con la máxima dedicación. 

Ahora, al reflexionar, me doy cuenta de que me quedan 2 años y 4 meses hasta mi jubilación, 
que será el 30 de marzo de 2028. La cuenta regresiva ha comenzado. 
Si resto el tiempo de transición, el período real de servicio activo es de aproximadamente un año y medio. 
Por eso, en el plan ministerial del próximo año, también está la búsqueda de mi sucesor. 
Creo que al menos un año debe dedicarse a servir junto con el sucesor 
para asegurar una transición natural y fluida. 

Por supuesto, se dice que hoy en día no es fácil encontrar un pastor principal de la nueva generación 
que pueda usar libremente tanto el coreano como el inglés. 
Por lo tanto, pretendo comenzar antes el proceso de buscar un sucesor y preparar la jubilación. 
Lo más importante es que el sucesor debe ser alguien que entienda y continúe el ADN de nuestra iglesia. 
He resumido este ADN en tres condiciones: 

Primero, alguien que entienda el espíritu de la iglesia en casas, 
que apunta a una iglesia del Nuevo Testamento. 
Creo que el modelo de iglesia en casas es un método muy bíblico 
para salvar almas y hacer discípulos en esta generación. 
Segundo, alguien que tenga pasión no solo por los coreanos, 
sino también por salvar y discipular a los niños y jóvenes de familias refugiadas internacionales. 
Tercero, alguien que tenga el ADN de las misiones, 
porque el llamado final de la iglesia es llevar a todas las naciones a creer en Jesús 
y hacerlas discípulos. 

No será fácil encontrar a alguien que cumpla estas condiciones, 
pero creo que cuando oramos y obedecemos, Dios obrará 
y Dios hará milagros para enviarnos a esa persona. 

También creo que la jubilación no es el final, sino un nuevo comienzo. 
Es el proceso de preparar a la próxima generación que Dios levantará, 
y el camino para que nuestra iglesia avance hacia una misión y visión más grandes. 
Ahora espero con esperanza los 2 años y 4 meses restantes. 

No solo yo, sino que también los animo a ustedes a pensar en la muerte cada día 
y al mismo tiempo considerar seriamente y prepararse para la jubilación. 
La jubilación no es simplemente el final de un deber, 
sino el proceso de transmitir hermosamente la misión de vida que Dios nos ha dado a la próxima generación. 
Que cada paso de preparación para la jubilación sea un tema de oración para todos nosotros 
y una oportunidad para buscar juntos la voluntad de Dios. -P.K.

 

1033. Kustaafu hufika kwa kila mtu. (Swahili Translation)

Kila mtu hupitia mchakato wa kustaafu. Mimi pia nina siku ya kustaafu mbele yangu. Nilipoanza kusoma theolojia, maneno ya profesa mmoja yalibaki moyoni mwangu kwa kina. Niliposikia maneno hayo, nilifikiria kwamba ninapaswa kujiandaa kwa kustaafu tangu siku ya kuhitimu. Kama vile mtu anayefikiria kifo kila siku hawezi kupuuza siku moja, vivyo hivyo, mtu akihudumu akifikiria kustaafu, kila siku aliyopewa haichukuliwi kwa urahisi bali kwa bidii kubwa. Ninaamini pia kwamba kustaafu si mwisho bali ni mwanzo mpya. Ni mchakato wa kuandaa kizazi kijacho ambacho Mungu atainua, na njia ya kanisa letu kusonga mbele kuelekea wito na maono makubwa zaidi. Sasa ninatazamia kwa tumaini miaka 2 na miezi 4 iliyosalia. Siyo mimi tu, bali nawahimiza ninyi pia kufikiria kifo kila siku na wakati huo huo kuzingatia kwa makini na ku. - P.K.-
