자비를 베푸시려는 하나님의 전략
The Lord’s Strategy for Showing Mercy
로마서11:25-36
- 온 이스라엘이 구원을 받게 되리라는 것입니다. 그것은 성경에 이렇게 기록되어 있는 바와 같습니다. "구원하시는 분이 시온에서 오실 것이니, 야곱에게서 경건하지 못함을 제거하실 것이다.

- "THIS IS MY COVENANT WITH THEM, WHEN I TAKE AWAY THEIR SINS."
- From the standpoint of the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but from the standpoint of God's choice they are beloved for the sake of the fathers;
- for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
- For just as you once were disobedient to God, but now have been shown mercy because of their disobedience,
로마서 11: 25-36은 이스라엘과 이방인들에 대한 하나님의 계획을 설명합니다. 바울은 하나님께서 이스라엘의 완악함을 일시적으로 허용하셨으나, 결국에는 그들을 구원하시겠다는 약속을 상기시킵니다. The content of Romans 11: 25-36 explains God's plan for Israel and the Gentiles. Here, Paul reminds us that God temporarily allowed Israel's hardening, but ultimately promises to save them.
특별히, 29절은 "하나님의 은사와 부르심에는 후회하심이 없느니라"고 말하며, 불순종한 자들에게도 하나님의 자비가 주어진다는 점을 강조합니다. Specifically, verse 29 says, "for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable," emphasizing that even the disobedient receive God's mercy.
우리는 하나님의 자비와 그분의 구원의 계획을 이해하는 것이 얼마나 중요한지 알고 있습니다. 그러면서 하나님을 멀리하고 각기 제 갈길로 가고싶어하는 우리들에게, 어떻게 해서라도 구원의 자비를 베풀어 주셔서 우리를 살리시려는 주님의 애타는 심령을 느끼게 합니다. We understand the importance of comprehending God's mercy and His plan of salvation. While we may want to go our own ways and distance ourselves from God, we feel the Lord's fervent heart to extend His saving mercy to us, no matter what it takes, to give us life.
여러분, 하나님의 자비와 그분의 구원 계획을 이해하며 사는 사람과 이해하지 못하고 사는 사람이 살아가는 삶의 질은 감히 천지차이라고 말씀 드릴 수 있습니다. Dear friends, I can confidently say that the quality of life of those who understand and live by God's mercy and His plan of salvation is vastly different from those who do not comprehend it.
성경을 통해서 우리가 배우는 것은 하나님의 품을 떠나 살아가려는 인간들을 어떻게 해서라도 하나님의 품으로 돌아와 풍성한 삶을 누리게 하시려는 아버지 하나님의 열심을 느낄 수 있습니다. Through the Bible, we learn of the Father's fervent desire to bring humans, who strive to live apart from Him, back into His embrace to enjoy an abundant life.
하나님을 떠나 제 마음대로 살아가려는 죄인과 하나님 아버지의 뜻을 따라 살아가며 풍성한 삶을 살도록 인도하시려는 하나님과의 줄 다리기 시합을 하는 듯한 느낌을 받습니다. We feel as if we are in a tug-of-war with God: sinners striving to live their own way apart from God, and God the Father, leading them to live according to His will and enjoy an abundant life.
여러분 이런 줄다리기 시합에서 결국 누가 이길까요? 오늘의 성경말씀을 통해서, 하나님의 자비의 손길을 벗어나려는 인간을 하나님의 자비를 누리며 살도록 하시고자 하나님께서 전략을 짜셨다는 생각을 해보았습니다. Who do you think will ultimately win in this tug-of-war? Through today's scripture, I thought about how God has devised a strategy to ensure that humans who try to escape His merciful hands can still live and enjoy His mercy.
그래서 오늘은 '자비를 베푸시려는 주님의 전략'이라는 주제로, 하나님께서 이스라엘, 이방인, 그리고 믿지 않는 사람들에게 자비를 베푸시려는 구체적인 방법에 대해 나눠보도록 하겠습니다. So today, under the theme of "The Lord's Strategy to Show Mercy," let's discuss the specific ways in which God extends His mercy to Israel, Gentiles, and non-believers.
먼저 30절을 함께 읽으며 시작하겠습니다. Let's begin by reading verse 30 together.
30. 전에 하나님께 순종하지 않던 여러분이, 이제 이스라엘 사람의 불순종 때문에 하나님의 자비를 입게 되었습니다.
- For just as you once were disobedient to God, but now have been shown mercy because of their disobedience,
여기서 자비라함은 영원하 지옥불에서의 구원얻는 자비를 의미할 뿐만 아니라, 이 세상에서 경험하는 지옥같은 삶에서의 구원, 즉 총체적인 구원을 포함하고 있다고 여러번 반복하여 말씀 드렸습니다. Here, mercy means not only the mercy that grants salvation from eternal hellfire but also comprehensive salvation, which includes salvation from the hellish experiences of this world. I have repeatedly emphasized this point.
총체적인 구원, 그래서 구원이라는 단어는 매우 엄중하고 무게 있는 단어입니다. Comprehensive salvation, therefore, the word "salvation" is a very solemn and weighty term.
자, 그렇다면 저와 여러분에게 구원이라는 자비를 베푸시려는 하나님의 전략은 무엇인가? So, what is God's strategy to extend the mercy of salvation to you and me?
성경에 나오는 이스라엘 백성들을 통하여 배워보기로 하겠습니다. Let's learn through the people of Israel in the Bible.
첫째, 완고함을 잠시 허락하시는 전략이다 (25절 하) First, it is a strategy of temporarily allowing stubbornness (verse 25b).
완고함, 고집, 우상숭배하는 죄와 같다. 사무엘상 15장 23절에서는 다음과 같이 말하고 있습니다: Stubbornness, obstinacy, and idolatry are similar sins. In 1 Samuel 15:23, it says:
"거역하는 것은 점치는 죄와 같고 고집 부리는 것은 사신 우상에게 절하는 죄와 같으니라. 여호와께서 왕을 버리셨으므로 왕도 왕을 버리셨나이다." (사무엘상 15:23)
"For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has rejected you as king." (1 Samuel 15:23)
(예화) 어느 목사님이, 한 가정을 심방했습니다. 그 가정에는 이제 막 말을 배우는 자녀가 있었다고 합니다. 심방 예배를 드리며 옆에서 놀고 있는 그 아이가 어떻게 그 말을 배웠는지, 무엇인가 손으로 짚고서 ‘도와 주세요!’라는 말을 반복하더랍니다. (Example) A pastor visited a family's home. In this family, there was a child who had just begun to learn how to speak. During the home worship service, the child, who was playing nearby, kept repeating the phrase "Help me!" while pointing at something, showing how they had learned that phrase.
이제 막 말을 배우는 아이가 집안에 있는 물건을 손에 짚으면서 ‘도와 주세요’를 반복하는 것을 보고 매우 신기했다고 합니다. 그러면서 그 말을 듣는 순간 어른이 보기에 하찮게 여겨졌지만, 도와 주지 않을 수 없었다고 합니다. The pastor was amazed to see the child, who had just started learning to speak, repeatedly saying "Help me!" while pointing at things around the house. Hearing those words, the pastor realized that although the child's request might seem insignificant to an adult, it was impossible not to offer help.
우리도 마찬가지입니다. 하찮게 여겨질 지라도, 내 고집 피우지 말고, ‘하나님 도와 주세요!’라고 반복하여 요청하면 자비를 베풀어 구원하여 주시기를 원하시는 하나님은 반드시 도와 주실 것입니다. We are the same way. No matter how insignificant it may seem, instead of being stubborn, if we repeatedly ask, "God, please help me!" then the God who wishes to show mercy and save us will surely help us.
이 예화는 우리의 고집이 어떻게 하나님의 축복으로부터 우리를 가까워지게 하거나, 멀어지게 할 수 있는지를 보여줍니다. 그러나 하나님의 자비는 언제나 우리를 올바른 길로 인도하려는 준비가 되어 있습니다. This example illustrates how our stubbornness can either bring us closer to or drive us away from God's blessings. However, God's mercy is always ready to guide us back onto the right path.
둘째, 하나님과 원수 맺는 것을 잠시 허락하시는 전략이다 (28절). Secondly, it is the strategy of temporarily allowing enmity with God (verse 28).
- 복음의 관점에서 판단하면, 이스라엘 사람들은 여러분이 잘 되라고 하나님의 원수가 되었지만, 택하심을 받았다는 관점에서 판단하면, 그들은 조상 덕분에 하나님의 사랑을 받는 사람들입니다.
- From the standpoint of the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but from the standpoint of God's choice they are beloved for the sake of the fathers;
셋째, 불순종을 잠시 허락하는 전략이다 (30절).
Thirdly, it is the strategy of temporarily allowing disobedience (verse 30).
30. 전에 하나님께 순종하지 않던 여러분이, 이제 이스라엘 사람의 불순종 때문에 하나님의 자비를 입게 되었습니다.
30. For just as you once were disobedient to God, but now have been shown mercy because of their disobedience,
하나님으로부터 선택받은 이스라엘이 이처럼 하나님을 떠나 맡겨진 사명을 감당하고 있지 않고 있을 때, 완전히 버린 것이 아니라, 잠시 옆으로 밀쳐 두시고, 그 대신에 그 역활을 대신해 줄 다른 방법을 계획하셨습니다. When Israel, chosen by God, turned away and failed to fulfill their entrusted mission, God did not completely abandon them. Instead, He temporarily set them aside and devised another plan to fulfill that role.
그 것이 무엇인지 아는가? 그것은 바로 이러한 이스라엘 대신 교회를 세우셨다는 것입니다. 그래서 이스라엘이 해야 할 일을 교회를 통하여 하도록 하셨습니다. 그래서 하나님의 구원 사역은 멈추지 않고 여전히 지속되고 있습니다. Do you know what that is? It is that God established the church in place of Israel. So, the work that Israel was supposed to do is now being done through the church. Therefore, God's work of salvation has not stopped and continues to this day.
사역 감당. 내가 안하면 못하겠지! 이런 생각은 하나님을 몰라도 너무나 모르고 있다는 증거입니다. 하나님은 교회를 통하여 하나님께서 하실 일, 즉 영혼구원하여 제자 삼으시는 사역을 지속적으로 완수해 나가십니다. Ministry work—thinking, "If I don't do it, it won't get done!"—is a clear indication of not understanding God. Through the church, God continues His work of saving souls and making disciples. The mission continues, and God's salvation work remains ongoing.
우리가 하지 않으면 다른 사람을 세워서라도 계속 진행하십니다. 우리 교회가 하지 않으면 다른 교회를 세우셔서 그 구원을 베푸시는 일은 계속 되게하십니다. If we do not fulfill the work, God will raise up others to continue it. If our church does not do it, He will establish another church to ensure that the work of salvation continues.
그만큼 하나님 아버지께서는 자비를 베푸셔서 구원의 선물을 주시기 원하십니다. 왜 그렇게 하시는 거죠? 하나님께서는 모든 사람이 구원 받기를 원하시기 때문입니다(딤전2:3-4, 벧후 3:9, 요3:16). This shows how much God the Father desires to bestow the gift of salvation through His mercy. Why does He do this? Because God wants everyone to be saved (1 Timothy 2:3-4, 2 Peter 3:9, John 3:16).
베드로후서 3장 9절입니다. 이 구절은 다음과 같이 말하고 있습니다: 2 Peter 3:9 says:
주의 약속은 어떤 이들이 더디다고 생각하는 것 같이 더딘 것이 아니라 오직 너희를 대하여 오래 참으사 아무도 멸망하지 아니하고 다 회개하게 이르기를 원하시느니라.
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
또 다른 구절은 요한복음 3장 16절입니다. 이 구절은 하나님이 세상을 얼마나 사랑하시는지를 보여줍니다: Another verse is John 3:16. This verse shows how much God loves the world:
하나님이 세상을 이처럼 사랑하사 독생자를 주셨으니 이는 그를 믿는 자마다 멸망하지 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 하심이라.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
그래서 결국, 하나님은 이스라엘에게 자비를 베푸셔서 시기나게 하시고, 다시 원래 맡기셨던 그 인류 구원사역을 계속 하도록 하시는 것처럼, 우리에게도 동일하게 적용하실 것입니다. So ultimately, just as God showed mercy to Israel to make them envious and allowed them to continue the salvation work originally entrusted to them, He will apply the same to us.
그러므로, 우리가 고집피우는 것, 하나님과 원수 맺는 것, 불순종하게 놔두는 것, 이러한 것들을 잠시 허락하시는 것도 하나님께서 자비를 베푸시려는 전략임을 알아차리고, 너무 조급하게 판단하지 말자. Therefore, let us recognize that God's strategy of temporarily allowing stubbornness, enmity with Him, and disobedience is His way of showing mercy. Let's not be too hasty in our judgments.
모두 하나님께서 결국 그 사람에게 구원 얻는 자비를 베푸시기 위한 전략임을 알아야 한다. 그래서 지나고 나면, 아하! 그래서 그랬구나! 이런 고백이 나오게 된다. We must understand that all of this is part of God's strategy to ultimately show mercy and grant salvation to that person. When we look back, we will be able to say, "Ah! That’s why it happened!" and make such a confession.
결론: 하나님께서 거역하는 죄인, 하나님과 원수 맺고 살아가는 죄인, 불순종하는 죄인에게 구원의 자비를 베푸시기 위한 최고의 전략있습니다. Conclusion: God has the ultimate strategy to show mercy and grant salvation to sinners who rebel, live in enmity with Him, and disobey.
그것은 유일하신 하나님의 아들 예수 그리스도를 십자가에다 처절하게 버리시는 전략이었습니다. 아들 예수를 십자가에다 죽이심으로 우리에게 구원의 자비를 베푸시는 전략이었습니다. It was the strategy of God to forsake His only Son, Jesus Christ, on the cross. By sacrificing Jesus on the cross, He extended His mercy and granted us salvation.
그래서 우리가 구원의 자비를 얻었습니다. 이러한 하나님의 자비를 모두 받아들이시고, 하나님의 자녀가 되는 특권을 누리는 저와 여러분이 되시길 축복하며 초대합니다. Therefore, we have received the mercy of salvation. I invite and bless each of us to accept this mercy from God and enjoy the privilege of becoming His children.

이제 평안한 마음으로 세상에 돌아가십시오. 선한 일에 용기를 가지시며, 악을 악으로 갚지 마십시오. 항상 연 약한 자를 도우시며, 병든 자를 찾아보시며, 곤란 당하는 이웃을 위로하십시오. 모든 사람을 존경하시며, 주님 께 봉사하고 주님을 사랑하십시오. 모든 일을 믿음과 사랑으로 행하시며 어떤 일에도 소망을 포기하지 마십시 오. 그리고 거룩하신 성령께 순종하여 기쁨과 감사의 생활을 해 나가십시오. 우리 하나님 아버지는 여러분을 항상 도와주실 것입니다.
Now return to the world with a peaceful heart. Have courage in what is good, and do not return evil for evil. Always help the weak, seek out the sick, and comfort those in need. Honor everyone, serve the Lord and love the Lord. Do all things with faith and love, and do not give up hope in anything, and live a life of joy and thanksgiving in obedience to the Holy Spirit. Our Heavenly Father will always help you.
